Police here in Connecticut say a 23 year old California man from India is accused of stealing about $900,000 from a local resident through a computer fraud scheme involving fake Microsoft pop-up warnings and someone posing as a federal agent. Investigators say the victim handed over gold coins during meetings in parking lots before becoming suspicious. Police arrested the accused fraudster during a planned third exchange and believe there may be other victims.
