Danbury zoning officials are considering a request from ShopRite to install an electronic message sign at Nutmeg Square on Newtown Road. The proposed sign would change messages every two-and-a-half minutes, which the supermarket argues does not qualify as flashing under city regulations. The request is tied to ShopRite’s effort to reopen the former Stop & Shop location.
