67 year old Gerald Rutledge of Southbury has been sentenced to three years of probation in a Brookfield shooting case. He pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree assault and one count of reckless endangerment. The judge also imposed a suspended 364-day jail sentence. The charges stemmed from a January 2025 fight in the Happy Landings parking lot. Two other people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds that police said were not life-threatening.
